The rain poured upon our heads from high in the clouds. The child below us looks as I'm sure we do from the sky. I can't help but feel bad as the rain mingles with a bit of her blood. I wish I could go down and help her, but I know such interactions are not allowed. Rachel must never meet me.
My associate stared down, and grit his teeth, battling the same demons as I am. I know he will reach the same conclusion. We always do. It's not really a choice we can make. We have not the free will to make that choice, but we can still feel the urges. It's the price for ascenscion.
"Come, We've work to do, Jack." I told him. His saphire eyes were too deep in thought, and thinking too much was bad in our line of work.
"Alright Sam... I just wish she didn't need to suffer. I know the vision must be met, but the price of blood is too steep. I don't understand it!"
"She didn't mean for us to, so we won't. She said we'd understand eventually, when the story is told. Until then, we have to keep them clear of interferance."
He shook his head, and beat his wings. They were a sweet feathered ebony, shining black, and reflecting light and rain. "I just want to tell her, and hold her. Show her everything will be alright."
"If you said that, you'd be lying. You would have to tell her the entire world of hers is nothing but a sanctuary, beaten back through that hellish darkness. That everything she knows, including herself, is a mirage created by a higher being. That's assuming the world doesn't crumble on us immediately as soon as she sees you."
"I know... But I can dream, can't I?"
"Yes. We all can. Come, we have a job to do."
I unfurled my own crimson wings, and we flew up, away from the boy pulling the knife on his victim, as the shop clerk ran to stop it.
[Elsewhere]
"These things are too much, Elias."
"I know, Johan, but keep going. If we stop, everything dies."
"Kind of a big burden to put on one group of people, you know?"
"Mmm... Maybe we should stop. It'll be nice... just to rest a while... just get some sleep... I'm tired of fighting night and day to keep it so that someone will never know what hell I go through. What's the point?" Elias dropped his sword, and soon the shadows consumed him.
"ELIAS! NO!" Attempting to save his friend, Johan dashed at Elias, attempting to cut back the chaotic darkness from his friend, but to no avail. Soon, with no one at his back, Johan was overtaken by the shadow creatures.
A view of the scene of Elias and Johan's defeat is shown in a crystal ball. A dark figure stands over it, smiling wickedly.
"Everything is going according to plan."
(Game Start)
Current Premise: We are in the world of FtoF, but not all is as it seems. The characters are as real as we are, but the world they live in is in chaos. Chaos that must not be exposed to them.
Factions:
Light: The Light battles to keep the world in balance, what little there is, that is. They keep back the darkness, and make sure everything happens as according to "The Plan."
Chaos: An unplayable force that attempts to devour the world. None know why, simply that to let it win is to unmake existance.
Dark: A conscious force that seems to want chaos to take over, and keep "The Plan" from happening.
