As most of you know, Nintendo decided to release a new gameboy system. Their 3rd Gameboy Advance handheld, the Gameboy Micro. I know that the GBA has had some really good times, but I don't know if they need to make ANOTHER version of the thing. They took some features away and added a couple of new features. So getting it is a tough choice.
One of the things about this thing is that it's TINY. They shrank everything down, screen, overall size, everything... That is the whole thing they're selling. The other good thing is that it isn't as cramped as the GBA SP. It also features TRUE backlighting (brighter than the Nintendo DS), and not frontlighting like the GBA SP. There are some drawbacks though. One being that they shrank it down so much that old Gameboy and Gameboy color games don't run on it anymore (which means that you'd need an original GBA and an SP). Another thing is that it is questionable whether they will have Gamecube link cable support. It DOES however have the headphone jack (which was removed on the SP for some stupid reason). The Gameboy Micro also has removable faceplates (which includes a screen protector so that the screen doesn't get all scratched up. There still is link support from GBA to GBA (with it's own unique link cable), and there is wireless support too. In a nutshell though, I think that if it had old gameboy support and Gamecube connectivity then it would be a buy, but since it doesn't, I can't recommend it.

An old thread, but worth my opinion, hopefully... I think that Nintendo had collectors in mind when they concieved the Gameboy Micro, at the same time wanting to get rid of the complaints people had with the GBA:SP. People who like to collect things would collect the faceplates. I myself would only get one if I ever lost/broke my SP. I'd only get one faceplate, too, the FFIV one. Because I love FFIV <.< Anyways... If you don't have a GBA and don't really have normal GB games, I'd suggest you get the GB Micro. I have a lot of old Gameboy games, so I need to have some sort of system to play them on. I only wish the DS could play the old games... But that's another tale for another time
